Aloha Aloha Makamaka! (Hawaiian for Hello art friends!)

The summer of 2020 is looking different for many, to say the least.  My little sunroom/studio conversion is working out so I continue to paint while at home.  Working in a glass room in a heat wave doesn't sound great but thankfully it has been cooler here than other parts of the country.

I was recently asked if I do gift certificates for my art. Happy to say, now I do!  A new page on my website here makes it easy.  Perfect solution to artsy gift giving.

Summer Small Works online show & sale runs until Aug 15.  This online exhibition supports the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria.  Two of my works are featured on page 12 & 13 here

Hi!  Two things I wanted to share with you...

1. Some of my artwork is now available at the beautiful Aquamaris Art Gallery in Duncan BC.  Located in the heart of the Cowichan Valley; it showcases contemporary Canadian fine art.  It's a friendly and welcoming place... a good fit for me and my art.  I'm very happy to join this lovely gallery!

That's 3 of my rocks & water pieces on the far left.

2.  The popular SUMMER SMALL WORKS SHOW & SALE at the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria launches Thursday June 18th at 6pm (PDT).  This year, due to COVID the event is cancelled, and the art show is presented virtually, online where folks can purchase direct from the show site. Two of my artworks were selected for this show!  The online show runs until August 15th.  Click HERE to view the show.

Hope you are having a good week!
Artfully yours,

Hi!  May I just say a huge thank you. I'm grateful for your art love.

Things are opening up a little here in BC, so this past weekend we went for a little drive up island and did some clam digging!  Darn fun, and easy to social distance too. My first time ever:).  Nanoose Bay is beautiful coastline.  Of course besides looking for clams, I'm always looking for inspiration...  Heh heh, I feel another series of mini's coming's on.

'Something Dancing There' is the title of my newest 30" x 12" inch oil on canvas studio work.  It's that contemporary hybrid of a direct and intuitive approach to painting, using oil paint & oil sticks.  Click on the image for other details.

Sending arty hugs.

P.S. special deals still available for # artist support pledge here.

Just when lots of arts and culture events are cancelled for 2020; artists,(ever creative) are filling a void with alternative ways to help one another and to make art. Some artists are teaching online, donating work, doing virtual exhibitions etc.   To make art is to hope.

I joined Artist Support Pledge Canada which is a Canadian offshoot of a pledge started by UK artist @matthewburrowsstudio for a culture of generosity for artists.

I am offering selected paintings on my website and on Instagram for a special price which includes shipping anywhere in the world with the hashtag #artistsupportpledgecanada

So much gratitude for frontline workers at this time, I'm wishing you safety and sanity.
Spring is a welcome month to endure the confines of this pandemic because it reminds me of hope.

I have been continuing to paint. This one is just off the easel today: Second Soul is 24"x24".

Listed today on my newly updated website.

Hope you are hanging in there.

I guess it's spring now that March is here.  I love getting outside to paint and I especially love painting spring in all its glory.  I painted this little 8x10 oil on panel on site in a little churchyard on the west of the island, where the Fawn Lillies were drifting.  FAWN LILLIES 8x10 inch is available.

March on!  May your snow be only cherry blossom snow.
