Life and art.  For me there is this connection between the two that is impossible to ignore. I've always championed painting the things I love.  When you love a subject it somehow shines through in the work.  No surprise then, that when painting, life itself also shows up in the work. The inner life, the outer life and all that resonates.

Difficult times in life means there's a lot to sort through.  Subjects seem less clear.  Intuition seems more demanding. It slows down the work as I find my way through a painting.  Often I'm surprised by what direction the painting veers, but the truth is there in the art.

This new painting is titled FADING FAST.  It is oil on canvas and measures 24 x 18 inches. It will be included in the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria TD ART GALLERY PAINT IN GUIDE to our local artist community.

This will be the 2nd year that the annual TD Art gallery Paint In, is cancelled. (so sad!) It is usually held along Moss Street in Victoria and attracts tens of thousands of visitors every year.  Hopefully next year things will be different.  Click on the image for a version with more info about the painting or to purchase it.

The SUMMER SMALL WORKS SHOW & SALE is online and in person at the Massey Gallery at the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria(AGGV) beginning on June 19 -August 27l.  I'm thrilled that my two small paintings below have been selected for it.  Check out this link for more info and for the direct link to the online show on June 19th.

Hope you are doing well.

Till next time:)
