Happy to say my old studio space is opening up again! It's a shared studio space, and it shut down in March.  This week the staff who manage the Arts Centre at Cedar Hill have implemented new guidelines and registered artists for sessions.  No drop ins allowed anymore & only a few artists per session to ensure distance as needed. I think we can do this.  I've signed up for 3 evenings per week.  It will be nice to begin a work routine again in the big studio space.

SHINING WATERS - oil on panel, 12 x 9 inches

The weather has been good for plein air painting trips.  I'm part of The Alfrescoe's, a group of local island artists who paint every Friday morning.  This one, Shining Waters, was painted outdoors one glorious late summer morning from a cliff overlooking a bay near Tower Point.  While I painted I heard a low roar and growling, which startled me so much I stopped what I was doing to investigate; slightly worried about the possibility of a bear or cougar... then I peered over the cliff and below me were two seals fighting over a fish for breakfast!  You can imagine...I was relieved!!

Cottage Beach Art ( my Etsy shop) continues as a portal for new (& returning) beach & art lovers.

Beach Play mini - 3 1/2 x 2 1/2" oil on wood
