Sally Chupick is a Canadian painter. She observes,invents & mixes what she would like to see with what she sees, harmonizing elements of mood and concept into her work.

Sally was born in Nova Scotia in 1956 and raised in Canada and Europe. Her background is fashion design & illustration. Illustration soon progressed into painting. Selecting watercolour courses and workshops in Canada, the UK and Australia,she focused on building her skills and knowledge. She developed her art while frequently moving around the world with her family. Painting became constant; like an old friend. For three years (1999-2001) in Australia Sally painted full time. It was a huge period of growth. While there she attended the Brougham School of Art, studying art history and oil painting. Returning to Canada, she noticed that the transition from working in watercolours to working in oils brought significant changes to her work. Soft diffused watercolour glazes morphed into more difinitive shapes; a sense of play began to creep into the structures of compositions. An integral element of her work is harmony of colour, rhythmn and movement. It is this principle that is her framework, that which unites her work.

Sally lives north of Kingston, On. Her studio, Stoneheath, is open by appointment.
